The obvious starting point is Microsoft. Their downloadable quick start guide is an excellent resource. Visit their Office cheat sheet page to download the Teams pdf – and other cheat sheets you may need!

They also have a range of Teams specific training videos that talk you through how to customise your team, upload files, manage meetings and more.

Don’t forget that UK-registered charities are eligible for free and discounted version of Office 365. Check out Charity Digital for more information.

Our favourite tips for users

There are many advantages to having your team chats, files and meeting notes all organised into digital channels but there are several features we like in particular!

1. Blurring your background when on a video call means you needn’t worry so much about where you are calling from. Here is a note on how to use if you are unsure.

2. Every organisation works in a slightly different way. Taking a small amount of time to agree on how you will use Teams will go a long way. For example, to save time, you could agree that liking a message equates to ‘Read that and understood’

3. Remember to @mention people in messages you want them to see. You can also filter activity by @mentions of your name as a basic way to sort your actions from the general conversation.
